Coenzyme I, also called NAD+, DPN, diphosphopyridine nucleotide, codehydrogenase I, nadide and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is the coenzyme of lactate dehydrogenase and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, which transmits hydrogen atoms in the process of dehydrogenase catalytic reaction, which is helpful to the metabolism of fat, sugar, nucleotide and amino acids. Coenzyme I also enhances hydrogenation while supplying energy to the body.
Clinically coenzyme I is applied in adjunctive therapy of leucocytopenia, also in coronary heart disease, myocarditis, acute chronic hepatitis, thrombocytopenia and mobility hepatitis.
